The next fifty years

Tonight my niece Facetimed me to tell me she is engaged. She was crying, laughing, smiling. Her fiancé kept saying "she said yes! I'm so happy. I couldn't be happier." Then she wanted to talk to Grandma too. It was so sweet. I'm so excited for her. Her fiancé is a good match for her and I pray for many happy years of marriage and some beautiful healthy happy babies for them too.  She will be the first of the grandchildren to get married. I wonder how long their engagement will be? It will be a wonderful family event. I am really looking forward to it.

 This is my new blog. It's either my fifth or sixth blog. I miss writing. My previous blogs were daily musings, little stories about my kids (which I'm so thankful for and love reading back on). But I'm in a different phase of life now. Both kids are close to or fully in adulthood, but I don't have an empty nest...yet. My urge to write has come back. I wrote a post yesterday that I intend to re-read in 11 years... OB (Older Brother) is away at college. Thankfully, he lives about an hour away, so going to visit him is easy and kind of frequent. I'm not sure how much I want to share about my kids on this blog. I'm thinking of making this blog public, partly because I don't think blogs are what they were back in the early 2000s...ever since FB, I stopped blogging and reading blogs.
